Yesterday the first workshop was held in school for the Year 7’s involvement in the Big Sing. Two vocalists and a live band provided by Salford Councils Music and Performing Arts Service (MAPAS) came into school to teach the children the songs.

 

Moorside High staff will then continue to develop these songs during music lessons and assemblies before the MAPAS staff return again on 3^rd December. 

 

A selection of the Year 7 pupils will then join other Salford schools in a ‘Big Sing’ at Peel Hall at Salford University on 10^th December where each school also performs a song of their choice on the stage.

 

The singing group have already been invited by Walkden rotary club to entertain the public at the Ellesmere Shopping centre during December, this is an annual event and we are pleased to have been asked to be involved in this again.
