Year seven pupils where given the opportunity to let their business flair shine through when they were challenged to come up with a business idea that has a low start up and will make them a profit in a dedicated hour and half bizarre for which parents and other students would attend. Over a period of 6 weeks the pupils had to come up with business idea, write a business plan with projected profit, design the products, any packaging and all associated advertising and there stall for the final bizarre. Four weeks into the project all the groups had to take their ideas one by one into the Dragons Den, To see if they would be given the start up costs they would need to get the project of the ground. Not all groups came out with the money first time as the business proposal didn’t add up so they went away and where asked to come back later. All groups did very well under the pressure of questioning. Each group came out stronger and more focused on the task in hand. The final bizarre took place for family, friend, pupils and staff to attend to purchase the home made items, these ranged from jewellery to ice-cream, cakes to drawings along with a number interesting drinks. of hand made products being sold. Everyone involved enjoyed and got excited about this project and it was truly a whole school success. |
