Building success at Lledr Hall Print

On the 4th September 2009 Mrs Cook (Director of Learning Year 6&7) and Mr Williams (Learning Mentor Year 6&7) took the Peer Mentors on an activity training and team building weekend to Lledr Hall. The weekend was a great success and was enjoyed by all. Climbing through rocks, and being soaked by waterfalls, it sure was a experience we will never forget. The Peer Mentors worked well together and some great relationships were built. Moorside is Proud to have such a strong peer mentor team who will assist in a smooth and exciting transition from primary to secondary school. For more information on this trip look out for the article in our news letter which will be in print and on line be the end of September 2009.

Continued hard work by pupils and teaching staff has strengthened Moorside’s position as a “good” school after a fifth consecutive year on year increase. With 51%  gaining 5 or more A* - C including Maths and English this is well above a 30% government floor target, combine that with 9 out of 10 pupils Moorside pupils  gaining at least 1 A* or A grade compared to only 1 in 5 nationally it has truly been an a great year.

This increase further shows that Moorside isn’t an exam factory but is an all round centre of achievement for exam results, sport and extracurricular activities.

The head teacher, Mr Ogden says ‘This is a fantastic day for the pupils, all the hard work and heartache was worth it. Thank you to the staff and parents who have also worked hard to support them'IMG_3231.JPG
